Pearl Dubai to Sponsor ‘Cinema Against AIDS DUBAI 2008’ amfAR Charity Dinner 2008
Pearl Dubai FZ LLC, developers of the AED15 billion mixed-use Dubai Pearl project, today announced it is sponsoring amfAR’s (The Foundation for AIDS Research) ‘Cinema Against AIDS Dubai 2008’ gala dinner to be held on 12 December 2008 at Atlantis-The Palm in Dubai.
amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) is one of the world’s leading non-profit organizations dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related public policy.
Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein is the honorary chair of the gala event, to be held as part of the Dubai International Film Festival 2008 (DIFF). Present at the high-profile fundraising dinner will be the event’s chairs Abdul Majeed Ismail Al Fahim, Chairman of Pearl Dubai, Hollywood stars Salma Hayek, Goldie Hawn, and Laura Linney.

‘Cinema Against AIDS’ events have so far raised more than US$30 million for research since 1993. amfAR, which is dedicated to research, prevention, education and public policy advocacy, has to date invested over US$275 million to help more than 2,000 HIV/AIDS research teams.
