Dubai Pearl, the 20 million sq ft integrated destination development, overlooking the Palm Jumeirah, has attainted pre-certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) at the Gold level for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).

The pre-certification brings Dubai Pearl a step closer to setting a new precedent for sustainable urban communities in Dubai.

Dubai Pearl announced the milestone completion of the fourth and final raft foundation pour achieved within the timeline of four months. The raft foundation on Tower 4 of the project consisted of 11,500 cubic meters of concrete, 2,500 metric tonnes of steel reinforcement and took a record 30 hours in one continuous pour to complete. Pearl Dubai FZ LLC, a leading real estate developer in the UAE, today announced the completion of 50% of the foundation works in the prestigious Dubai Pearl development with the completion of the raft pouring in South Tower on the project.

The South Tower has a foundation slab which is 3.25 metres thick and 3,072 square meters in total area. Juxtaposed against the 8.07 meters excavation, the dimensions make it a major milestone in the projects construction timeline. The project’s second raft pouring was completed in a record time of 30 hours.

Pearl Dubai FZ LLC, one of the leading real estate developers in the UAE, announced the commencement of main construction work on Dubai Pearl, the AED15-billion (US$4 billion) integrated luxury development, following the completion of the enabling and piling works by Al Habtoor STFA Soil Group (HSSG).

The main construction is being undertaken by the Al Habtoor Leighton Group, which was awarded the construction work at the end of 2008.
